NIDEK GONIOSCOPY GS-1
Technology

The new NIDEK GS-1 gonioscope is an automated gonioscopy device that provides automatic 360° color display of the iridocorneal angle. The NIDEK GS-1 rapidly captures high-quality color images of the entire anterior chamber and its structures using a 16-mirror gonio lens. The imaging itself takes about 16 seconds per eye, and the entire process, including setup, takes about two minutes per patient.
The NIDEK GS-1 gonioscope captures multiple images for each segment of the entire angle at different focal planes and automatically uses the best image from each segment to ultimately provide a complete view of the entire angle. It can be used an unlimited number of times, and photos obtained from GS-1 can display a single segment of the corner, the entire circumference, or a linear view.
The procedure is painless, non-contact, simple and short-lived. The device itself has an LCD screen on which the structures of the iridocorneal angle are clearly visible, and the photographic records are further used to monitor pre- or postoperative conditions of the eye.
It is clear that this device will revolutionize gonioscopy in ophthalmology.
